     How to Apply for an e-Visa

    1. Go to: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa

    2. Choose visa type (Tourist, Business, etc.)

    3. Fill out online form

    4. Upload documents & photo

    5. Pay visa fee (varies by nationality)

    6. Receive Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) via email

    7. Present ETA on arrival in India (print or digital copy)

    Regular Sticker Visa (For Long-Term or Special Cases)

    Apply through your nearest Indian Embassy/Consulate or Visa Application Center (VAC) (e.g., VFS Global).

    Required:

    Processing: 3–10 business days, longer in complex cases

     e-Visa Ineligibility

    You cannot apply for e-Visa if:

    • You hold a Pakistani passport or are of Pakistani origin (apply for regular visa)

    • You’re entering by land

    • You intend to stay longer than 180 days

    • You plan to work or study in India

     Overstaying Is a Serious Offense

    • Penalties include fines, detention, blacklisting, or ban on future entry.

    • Always check and respect visa validity and duration.
