Nursing Associate Application Process

You can start your application in NMC Online.

At the start of your application, you will be asked to enter your nationality, training, and the country you trained in and select the registration route you are applying for. You can begin the application by creating an online account with NMC using your email address. You will receive an email with an activation link to activate your account.

You can use your NMC Online account to submit your application. Also, you can track the progress of your application in your account.

  • Provide identity evidence

Once you’ve created your account, you’ll need to provide your passport details and a scanned copy of your passport, so we can confirm your identity.

You need to submit additional evidence if your name on your NMC Online account is different from the name on your passport to prove the reason for your name change, such as a marriage or divorce certificate.

NMC will verify the applicants applying to the nursing associate registration have the right knowledge and skills to practice safely and effectively in England.

You must submit a copy of your qualification to NMC to verify if your qualification is comparable to a nursing associate program NMC approve in England.

To meet the eligibility criteria, your qualification must be in nursing and be equivalent to a foundation-level degree. If your qualification doesn’t meet this criterion, NMC won’t be able to consider your application.

  • What you need to do

You need to provide the following information during the online application process as part of your application:

  • Details of your training including the title and the date of your qualification were awarded.

  • A scanned copy of your qualification certificate.

  • Provide the name, address, and contact email address of your educational institution.

  • Additional documents of your previous name if your qualification was awarded under a different name to the one you have used on your NMC Online account.

  • Provide details of your professional registration if your qualification allowed you to register in the country you trained in.

Get consent from your referees before you share their details with NMC. You will need to give permission to NMC to contact your education institution to verify the information you have provided.

  • Pay the evaluation fee

You will need to pay the £140 as an evaluation fee. The fee paid is non-refundable, even if they determine that you’re not eligible to apply or you don’t gain registration.

  • Contact your educational institution:

NMC will contact your educational institution once you have paid for evaluation fee and application submission. They will verify.

  • The information you have declared about your qualification.

  • Confirm it matches their records.

  • Confirm your qualification is equivalent to a foundation-level degree.

  • Inform NMC of any unmatched information they hold in their records.

You can keep track of the progress of your application status on the NMC Online account.

  • Evaluation:

Once NMC received everything they need, they will evaluate your qualification to see if it is comparable to one NMC approve in England. This helps NMC to understand a candidate’s knowledge and skills match their qualification in England.

If you meet their registration eligibility, NMC will invite you to complete your registration application.

If you don’t meet their registration eligibility, NMC will ask you to complete a Test of Competence.

  • Processing Time:

NMC Will let you know the outcome of our evaluation by email within 14 calendar days of receiving the information from your education institution.

Once NMC has confirmed your qualification is comparable or had confirmation of your successful completion of the Test of Competence, you will be asked to submit your full registration application.
