WHAT WE DO
India-Related Documentation Services

Indian Passport & Emergency Certificate
The Indian Passport is an official travel document issued to Indian citizens for international travel. In urgent cases where a passport is lost, expired, or unavailable, an Emergency Certificate may be issued by Indian embassies to facilitate one-way travel back to India.

Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card
The Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card is a long-term visa for foreign nationals of Indian origin, allowing them to live, work, and travel freely in India. While not full citizenship, it offers multiple entry, lifelong access without the need for a visa.

Police Clearance Certificate (PCC)
A Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) verifies that an individual has no criminal record and is often required for visas, immigration, or employment.

Document Attestation & Legalization
Document attestation and legalization verify the authenticity of official documents for international use, ensuring they are accepted abroad for purposes like visas, work, education, or business.

Visa to India
A visa to India allows foreign nationals to enter the country for tourism, business, medical, or study purposes. Most can apply for an e-Visa online, valid at select airports and seaports, with processing in 3–5 days. For longer stays or entry by land, a regular visa is required through an embassy.

Emergency Travel Documents
Emergency Travel Documents are temporary papers issued by embassies to citizens who’ve lost their passport or need urgent travel. They allow one-time or short-term travel, usually to return home.
Important Guidelines for Emigrant Workers
Always verify the identity of your Recruiting Agent. Ask to see their Original Registration Certificate issued by the Protector General of Emigrants, Government of India.
Do not engage with agents who are unregistered, suspended, or cancelled.
If in doubt, confirm their status with the Protector of Emigrants (POEs) or the Protector General of Emigrants (PGE).
Your insurance policy is valid only if the agent has a valid RA number.
Sub-agents are not allowed under the Emigration Act, 1983 – avoid dealing with them.
Ask the RA to show the Demand Letter and Power of Attorney from the foreign employer.
Carefully read the Employment Contract, especially details about salary and working conditions.
Do not pay more than the equivalent of 45 days’ wages, subject to a maximum of ₹20,000, and always take a receipt.
Make payments by Demand Draft or Cheque, not cash, and retain proof.
In case of overcharging or fraud, file complaints with the POE, PGE, or at PBSKs/KPBSKs.

Passport & Visa: Ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months and that you have a valid visa matching the job category you were recruited for. Keep photocopies of your passport and visa with you.
Employment Contract: Carry a signed copy of your employment contract, duly attested by the registered recruiting agent. Request a copy in English and have a trusted person review it with you.
Bank Account: Open a NRE (Non-Resident External) savings account in an Indian bank before departure. Always use legal channels for sending money home.
Know Your Rights: Learn about the labor laws, working conditions, and living standards in your destination country.
Stay Connected: Keep contact details of the Indian Embassy (address, phone, email) in your destination country. The OWRC (Overseas Workers Resource Centre) can assist you with this information.
Keep Your Documents Safe: Never part with your passport or signed employment contract. Keep extra copies stored securely.
Obtain Local IDs: Secure your Resident Permit, Labor Card, or Iqama, as required.
Don’t Sign Unfamiliar Documents: Avoid signing any blank papers or a new employment contract without proper understanding.
Avoid Protests: Striking or protesting may be illegal under local labor laws and could lead to arrest or deportation.
Be Cautious with Items from Others: Never carry food or packages from strangers—banned substances could land you in jail.
Carry Prescribed Medicines Only: Bring medicines only with a doctor’s prescription. Some drugs legal in India may be banned abroad.
Avoid Risky Contacts: Stay away from situations or people that may expose you to health risks or diseases.
Stay Connected with the Embassy: Keep in touch with the nearest Indian Embassy. Report issues like non-payment of wages or contract violations. Register yourself with the embassy for timely support.
- Personal baggage: Please cooperate with the Customs staff at the International Airports during your journey.
- Ensure that you do not carry any narcotics or alcoholic drinks. Alcohol may be strictly prohibited in some countries and its consumption may be a serious offence attracting severe punishment. Please update yourself on local regulations in this regard.
- Do not accept any unchecked parcel from any one. If you have to take a parcel for someone, please check it thoroughly to ensure that it does not contain alcohol, narcotics or some other banned item. Otherwise, it may land you in serious legal difficulties on arrival in the country of employment.
Apostille
India has been a member of the Hague Convention of October 5, 1961, since 2005. This Convention eliminates the need for legalization of foreign public documents among member countries. Apostilled documents are accepted in all member nations of the Convention. (For more details, visit: www.hcch.net)
In India, Apostille is applicable for:
Personal documents: Birth, death, and marriage certificates, affidavits, power of attorney, etc.
Educational documents: Degrees, diplomas, matriculation and secondary school certificates, etc.
As per the Convention, any document that has been apostilled in a member country does not require further attestation or legalization for use in India. Such apostilled documents must be recognized as fully legalized by all Indian authorities in accordance with international obligations under the Convention.
