An early year’s qualification shows you have the skills and training to work with children aged birth to 5 years. In England, early years providers must meet staffing regulations under the EYFS statutory framework, ensuring safe, high-quality care and education.

Who This Service Is For

This service is for individuals with international early years qualifications who wish to work in the early years sector in England.

Our evaluation team will assess whether your qualification is considered ‘Full and Relevant’ based on the Department for Education’s Early Years Qualification List (EYQL).

Who This Service Is Not For

You may need a different service if:

• Your qualification is not related to early years education

• You are not seeking work in the early years sector

In these cases, a Statement of Comparability may be more suitable.

If You Qualified in the UK

Check the EYQL first. If your qualification is listed, follow the guidance for England-based qualifications.

If You Qualified Outside the UK

You may apply for an Early Years Statement to assess how your international qualification aligns with UK early years standards.
